ABOUT SAJHSS

The South African Journal for the Humanities and Social Sciences (SAJHSS) is an open access, multi-disciplinary journal that aims to advance cutting-edge, critical research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. We aim to advance knowledge in and for the African and South African context towards illustrating its global relevance. We publish peer-reviewed articles from all disciplines across the social sciences and humanities with an emphasis on transdisciplinary conversations. We publish articles based on high-quality, ethically-sound empirical work, as well as theoretical and methodological papers, short communications/commentary and book reviews.

PLAGIARISM

All manuscripts will be put through iThenticate upon receipt of the manuscript. A guideline of a 20% similarity index will apply.

The use of common methodological terms and scientific concepts does not necessarily imply plagiarism, yet repetition of other work in sections that focus on content and new knowledge will not be allowed. Word-for-word copying of the work of others should be indicated by means of double quotation marks, and reference to the author, year of publication and relevant page number, e.g. “Brown (1997:40-41)”.
